Here's some tips that will make everything easier for you.

1) A bouquet is actually easier to draw than a single rose because the rose is typically long and tall and not very wide. Arrangements that are rectangular or square are easier to draw than those like a tall and narrow single rose.

2) With a bouquet you can "triangulate" more easily. Triangles are very useful when getting proportions right because they help you quickly evaluate and compare distances between points on your flowers. In fact there are virtually an infinite number of triangles in any arrangement or subject.

3) Don't worry about the details, just practice a lot on getting proportions right to start. If you are happy with those, change the arrangement and do them again. That approach will have much greater payback for you later on when you want to draw anything.

4. Don't start out by going into the fields and drawing flowers blowing in the wind, you'll just get dizzy. Practice in the studio or somewhere with stationary flowers.

5. Don't try to draw poppies or pansies because they just wilt so darn fast. Try using artificial flowers.

Flowers are always fun to draw. These tips will help you draw flowers faster and more accurately if you take them to heart.

If you want to see the complete drawing course, visit how to draw flowers.

To the creative and aspiring artist within you,

Paul

how to draw a rose

It's not that difficult to draw a rose.
